Analysing A Music Video (7)
One Republic- Counting Stars
Camera:
The have included a lot of long shots, mid shots and close up shots , this creates emphasis of the artist, locations and emotions
The music video uses a lot of close up shots to sell there faces to the public to be well-known the long shots also help them move around the scene showing a lot of movement example when they play their guitars.
Editing:
They have used slow motion which exaggerates the video a bit more, between the first couple of minutes of the start and end of the video the time of the cuts are really different between them.
A lot of jump cuts are used- its gives all the relative importance to the music video
Soft focus- makes the peoples emotions so much clearer and more understandable to the audience
Sound:
The soundtrack is instantly played
As the chorus starts the setting changes
Mise-en-scene:
The lighting they have used for the artist performing under the basement are low-key because the colour the looks darkish and has an element of looking 'retro'
Where as the church scene has a lot of light available that it looks brighter and have much more contrast.
The music video doesn't have a strong relationship between the visuals and the lyrics
